Be advised that the Telecommunications Committee is functioning, and =
working hard.=20
It is apparent however that many teams are working individually on =
communications projects without regard to the bigger picture in Alberta. =
This may in the long term be detrimental to obtaining a working =
agreement with Industry Canada and not in the best interests of Search =
and Rescue Alberta.=20
It is therefore essential that all teams working on communications =
frequencies and repeater projects work through a liaison with the =
telecommunications committee. We are working on similar projects, =
however the waters get muddy when you throw too many pebbles at the =
pond. The work should be co-ordinated through the telecommunications =
committee to come up with a satisfactory solution for all teams in =
Alberta so that all teams can be on the same page. That is not the =
situation at present.=20
We are working with Industry Canada, the National Search and Rescue =
Secretariat AEMA, and others for solutions.=20
For the common good of SAR in Alberta, please forward comments, =
innovations, and ideas through the committee.=20
Please contact the committee through the SARAB web page or directly =
through my email address listed below.=20
Kindest regards,=20
