Good day, this is a small update from the SAR Alberta Training Committee

A couple reminders and a discussion point to follow.

ITEM #1
Approved Training Grants - 2005 - 2006 ending March 31 this year.

I would like the groups that have had approved courses on the last grant 
to reply with  information as to if they have completed their courses 
and if not is it scheduled to be completed before the year end.

ITEM #2
Approved Grant courses 2006 - 2007
Please go to the the SAR Alberta web site and check that your group has 
been approved for a course if you made the request.
Next please read the posted material and apply for the course with your 
local Dist Rep ASAP as this is supposed to be completed in three weeks.

I apologize to your group if you indicated you wanted a course and did 
not receive it.  The time lines by the Gov. were short and some groups 
did not reply when asked.  On the upside other groups will likely be 
excited to share some course spots.

ITEM # 3
Incident Command ICS 100 Training.
All SAR Alberta registered groups this year will be invited to take the 
self paced home study course FREE this year.
Your training coordinator will request this course from me and I will 
supply electronically the Study Book, the ICS exam and the answer sheet 
to the Training Coordinator.  As well if you chose to do it as a group I 
can also supply the Power Point for this course. 
All tests will be marked and kept on record by the group and results 
will be summarized and sent to me.  This is an internationally based and 
certified course and eventually SAR Alberta may be able to issue a 
certificate for this.

Please have only your Training Coordinator contact me for this course 
material and  they can administer this as self study, group study.   The 
test is open book.
