HANDHELD SAR EMERGENCY LOCATION TRANSMITTER
Field Testing Project
In its continuing efforts to help improve and develop Canada's ground Search and Rescue infrastructure, the National Search and Rescue Secretariat's New Search and Rescue Initiatives Fund (NIF) has approved a Research and Development project involving Guardian Mobility Corporation to capture market requirements for the development of a Handheld SAR Emergency Location Transmitter. Parks Canada is the sponsor of this SARNIF project.
The first phase includes a field trial to better understand and document the needs of the ground search and rescue communities across Canada as they relate to Handheld SAR Emergency Location Transmitter devices. Guardian Mobility Corporation seeks your input into requirements and needs. SAR Alberta will be provided with 3 tracking devices for evaluation and testing purposes, and in return will asked to provide feedback on their usage. The goal is to establish clear requirements for a Handheld SAR Emergency Location Transmitter.
SAR Teams interesting in participating in the field trial need to contact SAR Alberta President Reese Wolsey. westpem at telusplanet.net
