SCOUTING MAGAZINE ARTICLE
Michelle forwarded an article to SARA Happenings that had been send to her by Olds SAR. The Leader, for August/September this year, has a comprehensive article on survival by Dr Gino F. Ferri PhD.
The editor would have liked to include a sample, but unfortunately the email that was sent had the article as an image and not text. Dr Ferri discusses the psychological aspects of survival, the extent of survival knowledge as a factor in remaining calm and adapting competently, and the personality traits that assist in promoting survival.
Perhaps SAR Alberta can obtain reprints of the article for interested groups.

INFORMATION FACT SHEET
Workers' compensation board information fact sheet for volunteer emergency service workers
As referenced in President Rod Dietrich's July 31st Address, SAR Alberta has been advocating on behalf of SAR volunteers for clarification and commitment regarding WCB coverage.
One of the outcomes of that effort is the following Fact Sheet provided by WCB. Please review and share with your fellow SAR volunteers.
WCB Information Fact Sheet is available from a link on the SAR Alberta website.
Direct any questions or comments about the Fact Sheet to Scott Pepper (AEMA) at Scott.Pepper at gov.ab.ca
Please CC President Rod Dietrich at accountinggod at shaw.ca in any email correspondence to Alberta Government, so SAR Alberta can stay aware of membership interest and concerns for future advocacy.
